IPOB Warns Ohaneze Ndigbo Against Hobbling Biafra Actualization

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has warned the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohaneze Ndigbo, not to hinder the actualization of the sovereign state of Biafra.

The group also issued a stern warning to politicians in Abuja and other parts of the country against making unguarded statements on the South-East’s bid to sever ties with Nigeria.

In a statement released on Saturday by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, IPOB stated that it has made it clear to the Nigerian government and the international community that Biafrans want a referendum to democratically decide whether to remain in Nigeria or exit.

The group stressed that this is its only demand and that it will not back down from it.

IPOB further stated that the treacherous activities of some Igbo political jobbers have endangered the Igbo people, their culture, and their economic underpinnings. The group urged these individuals to stop their anti-people politics that have denigrated Ndigbo in Nigeria.

IPOB also expressed its disappointment in Ohaneze Ndigbo’s refusal to understand that the Federal Government of Nigeria will never agree to restructure Nigeria equitably. The group urged Ohaneze Ndigbo to wake up from their slumbering illusion and stop dragging the Igbo people backward.

In conclusion, IPOB warned the One Nigerianists among Ohaneze Ndigbo not to mortgage the heritage of future generations of Biafrans because of their economic and political interests in Nigeria today.
