Army Chief Orders Enrollment of Personnel and Families in Health Insurance Scheme

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, has directed that all personnel and families of soldiers in Borno cantonment be enrolled in the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) under the Cantonment Medical Reception Station (MRS).

This directive was given on Friday, October 27, 2023, while responding to an inquiry from the commanders of the Abogo Largema military cantonment in Borno.

The COAS explained that the enrollment in the NHIS would enable personnel and families to enjoy free medical care. He also promised to address the challenge of infrastructure deficits in the cantonment.

The COAS appreciated the soldiers for their service to the nation in ensuring peace and stability in their area of responsibility. He added that socio-economic activities have been restored in the general area.
