Yobe Students Union Urges Government to Expedite Student Loan Implementation

The Student Union Government (SUG) of Yobe State University has called on the government and other stakeholders to make adequate arrangements for the implementation of the student loan scheme in the state.

SUG President Muhammad Saleh, in an interview with a correspondent on Friday in Damaturu, said students and their parents were excited about the development, as it would help the less-privileged access education.

“A large number of students, including our parents, find it extremely helpful as it will undoubtedly encourage many, especially those from a poor economic background, to further their education and make a significant impact,” he said.

Saleh urged both the state and federal governments to accelerate the implementation of the project, especially for students from poor economic backgrounds.

He also called on fellow students to take advantage of the opportunity as soon as it becomes available.
