Yobe Govt prioritises security, welfare of corps members

The Yobe Government has reiterated its commitment to the security and welfare of corps members serving in the state.

Governor Mai Mala Buni stated this at the swearing-in ceremony of the 2023 Batch C Stream 1 corps members on Tuesday in Potiskum.

Buni represented by his Deputy, Alhaji Idi Gubana said his administration had directed all security agencies and community leaders to ensure the safety of corps members in every part of the state.

The Governor also congratulated the corps members on their successful graduation from their respective institutions of learning.

He urged them to view their deployment to Yobe as a call to contribute to national development.

Alhaji Barma Shettima, The Chairman of the NYSC Governing Board in Yobe assured the corps members of a memorable service experience in the state.

He acknowledged the NYSC’s role in fostering unity among Nigerian youth from diverse backgrounds and appreciated the government’s commitment to improving orientation camp facilities.

The State Coordinator of the scheme, Hajiya Hafsat Yerima congratulated the corps members on their educational achievements and lauded their commitment to service to the fatherland.

She stressed the vital role of the orientation course in shaping the entire service year.

She said it exposed corps members to the objectives of the scheme and the customs of their communities.
