Lone PDP member in Yobe house of assembly defects to APC

The lone member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Yobe State House of Assembly, Hon. Lawan Musa Majakura, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Governor Mai Mala Buni welcomed Majakura to the APC, describing him as a “young and vibrant politician with huge potentials.”

Majakura said he was convinced to leave the PDP for the APC because of the “commendable efforts of the Buni administration in providing infrastructure to the people of his constituency.”

He said the construction of roads, housing estates, and medical facilities have transformed communities in his constituency and that he wanted to “join hands with Governor Buni and support him in serving my constituency to improve the lives of my people.”

Yobe State House of Assembly Speaker Hon. Chiroma Buba Mashio described Majakura as “very outstanding in defending the interest of his people” and said his defection to the APC was an “advantage to the party and the government of Yobe State.”
