The Imo state Gov, Senator Hope Uzodimma has commended Yobe people and the state government for their hospitality to the people of South-East.
He made the commendation at the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) by-election campaign for Yobe East Senatorial Districts on Monday in Damaturu.
“For my people, brothers and sisters from South-East in Yobe state I am very happy interacting with some of you.
“You have told me how the government included you in all its activities.
“Some of you have travelled to Jerusalem on pilgrimage and you are participating in the activities of the government.
“I want on your behalf thank the people and the government of Yobe,” Uzodimma said.
He added that the history of APC nationally could not be complete without the credentials of Gov Mai Mala Buni, been the national secretary and the national chairman of the party.
Speaking, the APC National Chairman, Dr Umar Ganduje congratulated government and people of the state over the inauguration of the campaign of East Senatorial Districts.
He said the party national leadership had always acknowledged and appreciated Yobe state’s commitment to the development of the party.
In his remarks, Gov Mai Mala Buni Thanked the APC national chairman, the chairman of the progressive governors forum and other guests for the support and solidarity.
He enjoined the people of Yobe East Senatorial District to come out en mass and cast their votes on the by-election day.
He also warned them not to give to opposition party an opportunity to represent them at national level.
It was reported that Musa Mustapha, the former Finance Commissioner had been declared the winner of the APC primary for the Yobe East Senatorial by-election scheduled for February.
Mustapha is running to replace Senator Gaidam, who represented the Yobe East Senatorial District before his appointment as the Minister of Police Affairs by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
