Senator Gaidam empowers women, youths in Yobe

Senator Ibrahim Geidam, the Police Affairs’ Minister empowered women groups and youths with tractors, buses and tricycles to boost their economic viability.

Geidam, represented by Alhaji Goni Kuwata, his chief of staff said the distribution was part of his 2023 capital intervention project.

He emphasised that the gesture was meant to foster self-reliance and drive economic progression among the people of the state.

“As we stand here today, we are aligned with the vision if our esteemed President’s renewed hope agenda.

“Aimed at creating jobs opportunities, support small-scale enterprises and eradicating poverty and hunger,” Gaidam said.

Geidam, who was also the former Senator representing Yobe Zone ‘A’ added that the distributed items include four tractors, 23 mini-buses and 98 tricycles among others.

He urged the beneficiaries to utilise the items judiciously, recognizing the potential they hold to transform their livelihoods.

He however called on those who were not be part of the beneficiaries at the moment, to be patient, ”efforts are being made to ensure that such opportunities are extended to all in due course,” he added.

Geidam also called on the people of Yobe East Senatorial Districts to come out en mass and cast vote in the forthcoming by-election slated to hold on Feb 3, 2024.
