Yobe Legislature Supports YSU Fire Victims

Yobe State House of Assembly has expressed its condolences and offered financial assistance to the students of Yobe State University (YSU) affected affected by fire incident.

Our Correspondent reports that on Feb 14 fire outbreak razed a female student hostel at Yobe State University YSU.

Alhaji Buba Mashio, the Speaker of the House pronounced the support on Friday when he led a delegation to the university in Damaturu.

“We were deeply saddened to learn about the fire incident.

“We are to express our condolences and offer our assistance during this difficult time,” the speaker said.

He donated N1 million to be distributed among the affected students on behalf of the members of the state assembly.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Mala Daura expressed his gratitude for the visit and the financial support.

“We are truly grateful for the Assembly’s compassion and generosity.

“This donation will be used judiciously to help the students who have lost their belongings in the fire,” Daura said.
