Bomoi wins Senatorial election for Yobe South

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has, finally, declared Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai as the winner of the Yobe south senatorial election held on 15th of April, 2023, but was declared inconclusive for some reasons.

Bomai of the All Progressives Party (APC) polled 69,596 votes to defeat Halilu Mazagane of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who got 68,885. to take the second position ahead of other parties in the contest.

Declaring the results at the collation center,Federal College of Education, Technical, Potiskum, the INEC Returning Officer, Abacha Meleni stated that “Bomai Ibrahim Mohammed of the APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared winner and is returned elected “.

In a press release signed by the Senator himself and made available to newsmen in the state, which contained his acceptance speech, Senator Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai thanked the electorates for the resilience and love.

He also commended the state Governor Mai Mala Buni, the APC and other stakeholders for the support in ensuring his victory to continue serving his people.

“Therefore this victory has further emboldened and made me more resolute in my commitment at bringing more people’s oriented projects and programmes as well as completing the ones we started in improving the lives of the common man in Yobe South.

” I want to seize this opportunity to inform some of our communities who have not benefited from our projects and programmes during my first term that this is not deliberate but it is humanly impossible to meet the demands of all taking into account the limitations of financial resources of government and the competing demands of a big nation like ours.

” I wish to therefore assure those communities of my resolve to see that projects and programmes have been brought to them in my second term by Allah’s will”, Bomoi stated

He used the opportunity to express his sympathy to the state governor, Mai Mala Buni and the people of Buni Gari over the loss of lives following attack by gunmen and prayed to God continue to bring peace and prosperity to Yobe state, and Nigeria as a whole.
