FUGA promotes 280 academic, non-academic staff

The Governing Council of the Federal University, Gashua,Yobe State, had approved the promotion of 280 Academic and Non-Academic staff

Mr Adamu Saleh, Head, Information and Protocol unit of the university disclpsed this in a statement on Friday in Damaturu.

Saleh the promoted officers include 40 academic, 165 senior non-academic and 75 junior staff.

“The Governing Council of the University at its 25th Regular meeting approved promotion of 40 Academic staff, 165 Non-Academic Staff and 75 Junior staff of the institution.

“The council also approved the promotion of six senior academic staff to the rank of Readers following the receipt of favourable external assessments report on them,” he said.

Those promoted to the rank of readers, according to Saleh, were Dr Umar Adamu, Biology Department, Karimu Ishola, Business Administration, Dr Mohammed Saminu Dogari, Chemistry Department.

Others he said are, Dr Abatcha Melemi, department of Economics and Development Studies, Dr Udu Linus, Public Administration and Dr Jerome Gumpy, Computer Science Department.

Ssleh quoted the Vice Chancellor, Prof Maimuna Waziri, congratulating the promoted staff amd urged them to work harder to justify the the confidence reposed on them.

The vice chancellor also warned the all staff of the institution against any act capable of tarnishing the good image of the University, saying such act would not be condoned.
