Gov Buni approves 17 community devt projects in Yusufari

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe has approved the execution of 17 community development projects in Yusufari local government area of the state.

Alhaji Waziri Ibrahim, Chairman, Yusufari local government council made this known on Sunday while briefing newsmen who paid an inspection visit to the local government area.

Ibrahim said the projects which were carried out in different parts of the LGA, include 21 boreholes at the cost of N 207.7 million, conversion of 9 generator boreholes to solar system.

Other projects according to the Chairman, included reconstruction of Yusufari Emir’s palace at the cost of N 99 million, supply, installation and furnishing of chairman’s official residence, staff quarters and offices.

The Chairman noted that Gov Buni also constructed and renovated Kumagannam General Hospital at the cost of N394..8 million, upgraded comprehensive health to general hospital in Yusufari at the sum of N271.6 million among others.

He commanded Gov Buni for siting various development projects within the local government area.

Also speaking, Rajab Muhammed, the Team Leader, said the inspection exercise was to promote accountability and good governance in the state.
