NEDC, Yobe Govt distribute relief materials to families of deceased vigilante

Yobe Government with support from North-East Development Commission (NEDC) flagged off distribution of food and non food items to the families of deceased, injured and incapacitated vigilante in the state.

Dr. Ali Abbas, the NEDC Coordinator and State Focal Person made this known on Thursday at the distribution center in Damaturu.

Abbas said “We are here today to support the families of deceased injured and incapacitated vigilante and hunters group in Yobe as directed by governor Mai mala Buni.

“This is a symbolic flagg off distribution of food and non-food items which contains rice, spaghetti, cooking oil, blankets, mosquito nets among others.

He said the gesture signified that the affected persons and families were not forgotten by both federal and state governments.

“This is a continued support to appreciate the sacrifice the made as a result of insurgency.”, he said.

He prayed for the families of the deceased and wish them well in all they do.

He added that the gesture would be extended to the families of police army and other security agencies.

In his remarks on behalf of the beneficiaries, Philip Japhet, commended NEDC and Yobe government for the support.

Japhet, who is also the State Commander of the Vigilante group in the state said the support came at no better time than then and would motivate them more.
