New Yobe NEDC state coordinator solicites staff’s support

Prof Ali Abbas, the newly appointed substantive Yobe State State Coordinator of North-East Development Commission (NEDC) solicited the support of the staff of the commission in the state.

Abbas, who took over the office on Monday in Damaturu, described the appointment as ‘rare privilege and honour.’

“It is my singular honour and privilege to be appointed as the substantive coordinator of the NEDC, which is a bigger responsibility and challenge.

“It is a rare privilege and honour to serve in this capacity.”, he Abbas said.

He commended the outgoing coordinator and assure other staff of the commission in the state his cooperation and good leadership for effective management of the office.

He also appealed to all the staff work as a team rather than as a group.

Abbas quoted Mr Muhammad Alkali, the commission’s Managing Director saying “NEDC in Yobe now have a team not a group.”

In his handover speech, Mr Garba Ajiyabo said the handing over was in compliance of a circular from the management of the commission dated Nov 30, 2022.

He mentioned some of the handed over items to include a temporary office complex, three official Toyota Hilux, two stores located along Maiduguri – Gashua bypass, Damaturu.

Other items according to him were 500 mass housing units projects, educational endowment projects spread across the 17 local government areas of the state among others.
