
NUJ expresses concern over poor electricity supply in Yobe
Yobe state chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) has called on Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC) to make a patriotic approach in both the supply and tariff of its commodity to reduce the difficulties being experienced by residents in thei social and economic activities.
State chairman of the union, Comrade Rajab Mohammed who made the call during a congress meeting of the union which took place at the state secretariat in Damaturu, lamented on that residents hardly get up to ten hour power supply and how this has affected business activities and water supply they needs.
He therefore called on the company to, “immediately reverse the ugly trend in other to remedy the situation” as water vendors easily use the situation to hike the price of water thus adding to the hardship already being experienced by the residents.
