SCI hands over assets to Yobe MDAs

Save the Children International (SCI), a Non Governmental Organisation has rounded up one of its European Union funded projects and handed over assets to Yobe state government.

Mr Abdulwasiu Ogungbemi, the SCI Advocacy and Community Mobilization Officer stated this at the hand over venue on Wednesday in Damaturu.

“In compliance with the donors guide lines, SCI donated a bunch of assets to the line Ministries Departments and Agencies of Government and other groups in the state,” he said.

He said the assets included, three Toyota Prado Jeeps, generators, Air Conditions, laptops, tables, chairs, and other office equipments.

Ogungbemi explained that the gesture was meant to ensure the sustainability of the projects across the state.

He also said the just concluded project was funded by EU (European Union) to support Early Recovery and Resilience Building among vulnerable groups in the state.

He added that the project was implemented by SCI in collaboration with CISLAC, International Alert and Life Helpers Initiatives.

Mr Mark Umoru, the SCI Yobe Field Manager, who handed over the items, mentioned some of the beneficiaries to include Ministry of Women Affairs, Yobe State Agricultural Development Programme.

State Operating and Coordinating Unit (SOCU) of the State Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, which received one Prado Jeep each.

Other beneficiaries were Yobe State Ministry of Youths and Sports, Yobe State Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee, Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Centre of Yobe State University among others.

Malam Ali Kolo, a representative of the benefitting MDAs had appreciated the gesture, saying the items would be of great help for sustaining the project.
