Yobe Govt bags best state Due Process Award

Yobe government has clinched the Due Process and Good Governance best performing state award.

Mr Mamman Mohammed, the Director General Press and Media Affairs to Gov Mai Mala Buni made this known in a statement on Saturday.

He said award was by the Association of Public Procurement Practitioners of Nigeria.

“The Association said government transactions under the Governor Mai Mala Buni administration, has made the state government more transparent and accountable.”, he said.

He added that the association commended Governor Buni for giving the state Public Procurement Bureau free hands to operate without hindrance.

“The Public Procurement Bureau was also honoured in recognition of its non-compromising posture in awarding and executing state projects.”, he also said.

According to him, the state commissioner for Justice, Barr. Saleh Samanja represented Governor Buni at the award ceremony.

Samanja, according to the statement commended the Association for the recognition, saying, “this is quite encouraging.

“This award will encourage Governor Buni and the government of Yobe to intensify due process in government transactions and projects.

“We also have a very efficient and effective Bureau of Public Procurement that ensures strict compliance to due process.

“The excellent leadership provided by the governor has made governance responsive, accountable and transparent” he said.
