Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe on Wednesday inaugurated a Primary Health facility constructed under the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) in Bubaram-Bataba village, Potiskum Local Government Area of Yobe.

Buni, represented by Dr Muhammed Gana, the state Commissioner for Health said the facility was constructed under the SDG through the Minister of Power, Abubakar Aliyu.

“This is a very remote and hard-to-reach community; for ages they have been seeking for a health facility.

“The establishment of the facility aligned with Gov. Buni’s administration’s drive towards improving access to health care services through provision of primary health care facility in each political word in the state.

“Most importantly it will reduce the hardship of people of this community,” he said.

Buni, therefore, urged the people to protect and maintain the facility for their own good.

The Deputy Speaker, Yobe House of Assembly, Mohammed Danchuwa expressed gratitude to the governor for his efforts in providing basic health facility in all the electoral wards of the state.

Danchuwa also called on residents of the community to demonstrate ownership over the facility.

Malam Usaini Salisu, one of the residents, said that before the establishment of the facility most of them had to travel to Potiskum, about 20km to access health facility.
