In an announcement made by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, President Bola Tinubu has requested that his associates, well-wishers, and friends refrain from placing any advertisements or organizing celebrations for his upcoming 72nd birthday on March 29, 2024.

“On Friday, March 29, 2024, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will mark his 72nd birthday, a significant milestone in his life as a leader and statesman,” stated Onanuga.

While it is customary for family, friends, and associates to commemorate such occasions, President Tinubu, as a mark of respect for the current challenges faced by the nation, has chosen not to host any birthday events.

President Tinubu encourages friends and associates who intended to place goodwill advertisements to instead donate the funds to charity organizations of their choice in his name.

Furthermore, he does not wish for any celebratory events or advertisements to be organized on his behalf.

Acknowledging the honor of leading Africa’s foremost nation during these trying times, Tinubu is diligently working towards improving the lives of the Nigerian people.

In light of the recent tragic loss of army and police officers in Delta State and the escalating security threats across the country, President Tinubu has urged against any form of birthday events or the placement of goodwill advertisements in newspapers, radio, or television stations.

While expressing his gratitude for the bravery of the armed forces in rescuing abducted children in Kuriga, Kaduna State, and Sokoto State, the President intends to utilize his birthday as an opportunity for reflection and to rededicate himself to the crucial task of building a more stable, secure, prosperous, and united Nigeria.
