Bego hands over Yobe Information Ministry to new commissioner

Former Commissioner for information, Yobe state

The Commissioner of Yobe State Ministry of Home Affairs, Information and Culture, Abdullahi Bego, on Tuesday, handed over the ministry’s affairs to Mohammed Lamin as news commissioner of the ministry.

This development follows a minor reshuffle made by Governor Mai Mala Buni, in the state’s cabinet in Damaturu.

Buni scrapped the Ministry of Land and Solid Minerals Development of which Lamin had been the commissioner and established Ministry of Wealth Creation, Empowerment and Employment Generation to which Bego had now been deployed.

Bego stated at the occasion that “The ministry, under the present administration, has undergone tremendous transformation.

“The ministry has now moved from an analogue baseline to the digital spaces of modern information and communication technology for the effective collection and dissemination of information, news and entertainment across the state and the country.”

He expressed hope that the new commissioner would use his wealth of experience to continue to develop the ministry.

Bego appreciated the cooperation accorded him by the entire staff of the ministry as well as its agencies.

“It is your determination, dedication and professionalism that propelled the ministry to where it is today.

“I encourage you to even give more support and show more commitment so that the incoming Commissioner can achieve more.”, He said.
