The Yobe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (YOCHMA) organized a one-day stakeholders’ town hall meeting to improve efficiency and service delivery.

Dr Babagana Tijjani, the Executive Secretary of the agency, made this known at the venue on Wednesday in Damaturu.

He said the town hall meeting aimed to ensure enrollees have a clear understanding of the healthcare scheme.

“We are holding this important town hall meeting for people in Damaturu, Potiskum, and Gashua to ensure enrollees of this zone have a clear understanding of the healthcare scheme,” he explained.

“The goal is to clarify the roles and responsibilities of YOCHMA, beneficiaries, and other critical stakeholders. This will help prevent confusion and avoid shifting blames in the future.

“The town hall meeting will also be a platform for you to share your observations and concerns. We will address issues like out-of-stock medications at healthcare facilities,” he explained.

Speaking on behalf of the NHIA, Malam Mansur Akilu, the State Coordinator, appreciated the good relationship that exists between the Authority and YOCHMA.

“Especially in the area of basic healthcare provision funds, Yobe state is participating actively towards the attainment of Universal Healthcare Coverage,” he said.

Mr. Adamu Lange, Chairman of the Nigeria Civil Service Union’s Yobe chapter, spoke on behalf of enrollees, expressing overall satisfaction with YOCHMA’s services.

He identified areas for improvement, particularly in service delivery and ensuring a consistent supply of medical supplies at healthcare facilities.
