Breaking: Nnamdi Kanu Bail Decision on Hold Until March 19th

A Nigerian court has postponed its decision on whether to grant bail to Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), until March 19th, 2024.

Aloy Ejimakor, Kanu’s lawyer argued for his release due to ill health, but prosecutors maintained the government can provide adequate medical care.

Kanu faces charges of treasonable felony and has been detained by the Nigerian government.

The lawyer argued during a hearing on Monday that Kanu’s health condition necessitates his release on bail.

However, the prosecution team, led by Adegboyega Awomolo, countered that the Department of State Services (DSS) had the necessary medical facilities to address Kanu’s needs.

The judge, after considering the arguments, deferred the verdict on bail until March 19th, leaving Kanu’s fate in limbo for the time being.
