Yobe lawmaker empowers 200 women, youths

Zakariya’u Galadima, a member representing Bade-Jakusko in the House of Representatives, has empowered 200 women and youths in his constituency.

The empowerment involves vocational skills acquisition and entrepreneurship development through the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) as part of efforts to make them self-reliant.

The empowerment programme which holds in Gashua and Jakusko is meant to trained the 200 beneficiaries on Plaster of Paris (PoP), painting and tailoring.

After the training, the beneficiaries will be given a start-up packs which includes sewing machines and tools for POP, painting and stipend to enable them start up their own business.

Some of the trainees expressed appreciation for the initiative and promised to use their skills to help themselves and the community.
