The federal minister of power, Engineer D Aliyu has expressed hope that APC would be victorious in the ongoing gubernatorial and house of assembly elections in the state.
He made this observation today when he spoke with journalists shortly after casting his vote at his polling unit in 006, Garin Maina in Potiskum local government area of Yobe state..
He pointed out that unlike the last presidential election in which the party suffered some setbacks that gave the opposition PDP an edge, the party took enough time to mobilise its voters thus expressing assurance that APC candidates: the governor Mai Mala Buni and members of the House of Assembly would be victorious when the results would be announced.
He called on those that may lose to accept the result without rancour knowing that in any contest one must win against the other.
He however called on the winners to consider their victory as a call to service for the interest of those they would be representing.
He lamented that Nigeria has suffered serious setback as a result of negligence on the part of previous administration’s to a situation where countries that formerly run to Nigeria for help are the countries that Nigeria now runs to for assistance.
Such countries, he said, has gone far and has built high scrapers.
” It is time we take our country back to the position where it supposed to be” the minister said.
