Nigerian Red Cross Society inaugurates new leaders in Yobe

The Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS), Yobe state branch, has successfully inaugurated its newly elected executive members.

Mr. Ibrahim Dachia, the Acting Branch Secretary made this known in an interview with our Correspondent on Monday in Damaturu.

Dachia said all 12 positions were elected and filled with representatives from across the state’s three senatorial districts.

He expressed delight at the successful conduct of the election despite some challenges.

“Despite all the hiccups, I am happy for the election to have taken place during my tenure of office.

“The process has been completed, and new leaders have emerged,” Dachia stated.

Mr. Yohana Garba, the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, explained the transparency and inclusivity of the election process.

He said applications were accepted from all three senatorial districts to ensure balance and fairness.

He added that four positions were allocated to each district, ensuring equal representation.

“We wish the newly elected officers a successful term of office.

“We urge them to prepare for the tasks ahead and dedicate themselves to serving the community,” Garba said.

Dr. Adamu Babale, the Head of the Election Monitoring Committee from the national headquarters, praised Yobe branch for conducting a free and fair election.

He noted that the process reflected the national vision for democratic elections at all levels.

“What we have witnessed here is a true testament to our national commitment to fair elections.

“This sets a positive example for other branches to follow,” Babale said.

Hajiya Nafisatu Bala, the North-East Zonal Chairperson of NRCS, commended the electoral committee for its meticulous organisation and adherence to established procedures.

She also wished the newly elected officers a productive term and encouraged them to uphold the Red Cross’s humanitarian values.

Hajiya Husna Ibrahim, one of the newly elected executives on behalf of others, have pledged their commitment to serving the people of the state with dedication and compassion.

She expressed gratitude for the trust placed on them and promised to work tirelessly to promote humanity.
